What would we become if Jesus was our Hope?

We are Joel and Chastity, college sweethearts meeting at Southern University in Baton Rouge in the Fall semester of 2008. They both began serving in ministry and were married in 2010. Joel has served in preaching ministry and various leadership roles throughout the years. Chastity, passionate to use her lovely voice to worship God, served in ministry this way. Joel is a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary earning a Masters of Arts in Evangelism and Apologetics. We want people to know that there are valid reasons for faith in Jesus Christ.

Just over 10 years ago, our family experienced tragedy when our oldest daughter, Jordyn, was diagnosed with childhood Leukemia at the age of 9. By God’s grace, she is now thriving and cancer free. During the time of suffering and loss while caring for Jordyn we were overwhelmed with God’s hope. We sensed God’s calling in that moment and responded by ministering to families facing dire circumstances. In this journey a burden was planted in our hearts for people to know that true hope is in Christ alone. By God’s grace we are planting Hope Fellowship, and our aim is to reach people who’ve lost hope. Connect Church Algiers has affirmed our calling to plant as our sending church and we’ve been endorsed by Send Network. We want to see the church restored to being the pillar in the urban community and desire to see discipleship done well in this context.
